Pets in a rental property

Tenants must have permission to have a pet at their property.

A tenancy agreement that is signed at the start of a tenancy indicates if a pet is approved, the type of pet it is and the number of approved pets. A written request is required if you would like to have a pet approved during a tenancy.  A pet clause would then be required to be signed if approval is given by the lessor.

Tenants are responsible for any damage caused by animals, and cleaning up after the pet when required.  If a pet is bought in to the property without approval the tenant will be in breach of their tenancy agreement.
